Job Summary

Support the preparation of accurate and timely Pricing analysis and assist in making recommendations to support key business objectives.


Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Provide support to actuaries and others by performing analysis within designated business segments to assist business decision making and financial planning
  • Assist in profitability analysis and rate change recommendations for key lines of business based on appropriate tools and assumptions
  • Analyse and monitor key performance indicators and assess rate change impacts
  • Assist in building, validation and analysis of Pricing models for a variety of purposes
  • As part of a team, develop solutions using sound actuarial/statistical approach to both new and routine Pricing problems
  • Perform rigorous validation of data in advance of analysis and actively recommend improvements to data quality
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all analysis and recommendations
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation of methods and activities
  • Provide clear and concise communication of technical work to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Implement and deliver work according to policies, guidelines and procedures of the Pricing function
  • Help support positive relationships between the Pricing area and its business stakeholders



  • Minimum 2.1 honours analytical degree ideally in actuarial, mathematical or statistical studies


Experience & Knowledge

  • Strong analytical skills with an understanding of how actuarial/statistical methodologies apply to business problems
  • Good IT skills, will need to be comfortable with basic programming and eager to develop this skill. Knowledge of SAS will be an advantage
  • Understanding of the general insurance industry and of the business implications of analytical results
  • Good oral and written and presentation communication skills



  • Highly motivated with a genuine interest in learning about GI Pricing
  • Can prioritise and organise their own workload to meet personal and team objectives
  • Good interpersonal skills with a clear ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to balance multiple projects with some direction
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Focussed on the timely delivery of accurate results
