Job Summary

A vacancy has arisen for a full time Commercial Motor Underwriting Analyst within our new Personal Lines Underwriting function. This Underwriting Analyst will report directly to the Commercial Motor Underwriting Manager.


Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Analysis of Commercial Motor Non- Fleet portfolio development and delivery of appropriate reporting to enable Management to make timely decisions
  • Reviewing and refining product underwriting criteria, policy wordings and features and benefits
  • Reporting on business trends, risk limits and portfolio development in line with Underwriting Risk Policy and Risk Appetite
  • Assisting in the development of appropriate Underwriting Guides to support front-line Underwriters and Distribution Channels
  • Developing implementation solutions for underwriting, pricing, product and underwriting process changes
  • Developing in conjunction with the Underwriting Managers appropriate Pricing proposals for consideration by the Underwriting Committee
  • Implementation of Compliance and Legal change requirements
  • Develop appropriate strategies/measures to tackle Fraud at Underwriting stage
  • Supporting Frontline Underwriters and Distribution
  • Supporting Marketing in the development of Marketing campaigns where appropriate
  • Market analysis
  • Execution of Underwriting Quality audit reporting
  • Other responsibilities maybe assigned where appropriate



  • Insurance qualifications preferable


Experience & Knowledge

  • Minimum 3 years underwriting experience including Irish markets
  • Excellent numeric and analytical skills
  • Good knowledge of underwriting touchpoints within the business



  • Ability to work as part of a Team
  • Good communication skills
  • Flexible approach to work within the department and willing to travel between Dublin and Cavan locations when required
