Women in Sport

At Liberty Insurance one of our core values is fairness, that’s why we chose to get involved in providing a fair deal and a brighter future for women in sport.
In 2013 we kicked-off the initiative with sponsorship of the Hurling and Camogie All Ireland Championships, the first time in history that the two sports have had joint and equal promotion. Since then Liberty has contributed over €1 million to the cause, but we’re not taking our eye off the ball. We are as focused as ever on raising the profile of women in sport and making the sporting field a more level one. Our partnership with the Camogie Association goes from strength to strength with an innovative programme of activities each year around the Camogie Championship. We realise it’s a marathon not a sprint and we’re in it for the long haul. Check out #SupportHerSport on Twitter.

Squad Goals 2017 - Calling all Camogie clubs…

For 2017 Liberty Insurance is delighted to partner with, and 2FM to bring you the biggest Squad Goals Challenge ever.

Liberty Insurance were looking for any talented and energetic camogie team with the appetite for a challenge and the courage to put their skills to the test on camera, to enter.

Castleknock Camogie Club, Squad Goals Champions 2016

Castleknock Camogie Club battled it out at half time during the Senior Camogie final last year to become the Liberty Insurance Squad Goal champions 2016. The ladies had a tough challenge against St. Lachtain’s of Kilkenny and came out champions winning an amazing €5,000 for their club.

What are we doing to promote women in sport?

Launch of #SupportHerSport

2015 saw the launch of #SupportHerSport, a ground-breaking initiative designed to encourage support and attendance at female sporting events. Research commissioned by Liberty Insurance found that 70% of Irish people believe that raising the profile of women's sport is important - we agree.

Meet our Ambassadors

We are working with four sports Ambassadors whose accomplishments on the field of play align with our brand values of integrity, honesty, fairness and doing the right thing for our customers. Meet our Ambassadors.

Live Social Q&As

We initiated the first ever live Twitter Q&A with a Camogie player in 2014, and the first ever Facebook Live event from the 2016 Camogie All Stars. Innovation is important in furthering the promotion and achievements of women in sport, to effect real and meaningful change.
