The Squad Goals entries are in, the videos have been carefully scrutinised and all we can say is … what a talented bunch you are!
It was a hard job, but after much deliberation we managed to whittle down the entries to our top five. Here they are, in no particular order:
Cahir Camogie Club, Co Tipp
These ladies showed great team spirit and excellent sliotar control skills. Their blooper reel also made for some rather entertaining viewing!
Birr, Co. Offaly
This talented squad made some difficult moves appear effortless, especially the sideline point and crossbar hit. Well done!
St. Lachtains, Co. Kilkenny
These ladies showed us how a sliotar should be controlled. Look out for the hurly twirl finished beautifully with a point.
Portumna, Co. Galway
What we loved about this entry was the precise control of the sliotar, especially using the handle of the hurl and foot combination. Skilful!
Castleknock GAA club
We chose this entry for the range of skills on offer, the players’ accuracy, and the real team effort that was clearly on show.
Join us for a knockout evening
Thanks to every squad that entered and well done to our final five, all who now go through to the Squad Goals knockout round. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be paying a visit to all five finalists to put their skills to the test, live on 2FM!
If you’re in the area, please come down and support your club; not only will you get to witness some seriously impressive skills close-up, there will also be spot prizes, song requests taken and more, hosted by 2FM’s Eoghan McDermott.
