As part of our #DriveSafer campaign we’re proud to support National Slow Down Day
If you’re driving today and notice traffic is a little slower than usual, there’s a good reason for it. It’s National Slow Down Day and Gardaí have been out since 7am enforcing ‘Operation Slow Down’, a national 24-hour initiative. The aim is to remind drivers of the dangers of speeding, with the objective of reducing the number of speed-related accidents on Irish roads.
So far this year, 148 people have been killed on the roads of Ireland – 24 more than this time last year. But you can make a real difference to these numbers. So today, and everyday thereafter, we’re asking you to make a conscious effort to stick to the speed limit.
Tips to help you #DriveSafer
- Watch your speed
- Wear the right footwear
- Switch your phone off
