Cutting Your Car Insurance Costs

There are a number of ways you can reduce your car insurance premium and keep costs to a minimum, and we've pulled together some of the best tips to help you along the way.

Multi Policy Insurance Savings

Multi Policy Discount

We’re rewarding customer loyalty by giving you discounts of up to 10% on every additional motor or home insurance policy you buy from us. The discount even extends to policies in the name of your spouse or partner.

So if you’ve got more than one car to insure, or need home insurance, van insurance or motorbike insurance, the savings can really add up when you insure them all with us. Terms and Conditions apply.

Named driver discount

Named driver discount

If this is your first car insurance policy in your own name, you may get a discount if you’ve been a named driver on someone else’s policy and had no claims. Terms and conditions apply.

All you need to do is provide a letter from your current insurance company as proof of your driving experience, confirming no claims and dates you were named on the policy. It’s a perfect start for those taking out their first policy.

More ways to save

As well as all our discounts, here’s a few other ways you can keep the cost of your car insurance down:

  1. Pay in full. It’s cheaper to pay your insurance up front, with no direct debit service charge to pay. We accept all major cards, and everything can be done very quickly online too.
  2. Avoid modifications which increase the performance of the car. They can increase the price. Things like engine modifications, or a lowered suspension may affect your insurance costs, but not every modification will increase the price. All modifications must be disclosed when obtaining a quote.
  3. Keep a clean licence. We’re encouraging all drivers in Ireland to be sensible, and drive safely. Penalty points or convictions may increase your car insurance costs. We’re firmly committed to keeping Ireland’s roads safe.
