If I have a claim will you appoint a repairer/assessor to deal with my claim?

Car, van or motorcycle

If the worst happens and you need to make a claim, our claims team will appoint a Regional Claims Manager to handle your claim. Your vehicle can be brought to one of our approved repairers or a garage of your choice. In some cases we may appoint an assessor to help quantify the work required to your vehicle.

If the worst happens and you need to make a claim, our claims team will appoint a Regional Claims Manager to handle all aspects of your claim. In most cases you will have the ability to appoint an assessor/builder of your own choosing to carry out repairs to your property but in some cases we may decide to appoint an assessor/builder to carry out repair works.

If we have agreed to pay your claim and the total amount to be paid under this section is more than €3,000, we may keep up to 30% of the payment until the reinstatement work is complete. We will consider the work as complete when we have received and checked the final invoices and, if necessary, carried out a final inspection of the work. The inspection may be carried out by us or a representative we appoint.

A claim will primarily be dealt with by the claims coordinator. If it is considered appropriate, a Regional Claims Manager and/or motor assessor may be appinted to assist in progressing the claim.

If repairs are deemed approprriate, a repairer will be appointed either by the claimant or by Liberty Insurance. In some cases, repairs are not deemed appropriate and a cash settlement is agreed.
