1.    What is LeakBot?
LeakBot is a smart water leak detector developed by HomeServe Labs Limited that alerts you to hidden leaks early so you can deal with them before they become a bigger problem. It’s easy to set up and monitors your home's mains water supply pipe 24 hours a day sending alerts to your mobile phone.

2.    How does LeakBot detect leaks?
LeakBot’s patented Thermi-Q technology accurately measures both the air and pipe temperatures in your home. If you have a leak, it will continually draw colder water from outside into your home, creating a consistent drop in temperature. LeakBot can sense the prolonged and consistent drop in temperature and alerts you to the problem.

3.    Which parts of my plumbing will LeakBot monitor?
When fitted correctly, LeakBot will monitor all hot and cold water pipes fed from your internal mains water supply pipe.

4.    How do I get a LeakBot?
Please follow the link in your email, this will bring you to LeakBot’s website where you can sign up to receive the Leakbot device. You will need to accept LeakBot’s terms and conditions. Your LeakBot will be dispatched by post to your address as provided by you to HomeServe Labs Limited, the manufacturer and supplier of the LeakBot.

5.    How do I install and set up LeakBot?
To get started download and install the LeakBot app from either Google Play or the App Store. Your will be asked to accept LeakBot’s privacy policy and terms and conditions. Once installed,the The LeakBot app will guide you through every step of the set up journey. If you’re still unsure, watch the guide to setting up your LeakBot.

6.    How do I find my internal stop tap?
Your home’s internal stop tap is located at the point where the mains water enters your home. This is normally found on the ground floor, underneath the kitchen sink, hallway, ground floor bathroom or garage. If you’re still unsure, watch the guide to setting up your LeakBot.

7.    How can I tell which tap is the internal stop tap?
Your internal stop tap, (also known as a stopcock or stop valve) will be found on your mains water supply pipe. This is the pipe that supplies fresh water into your home. If you turn this tap clockwise to the closed position you should have shut off the fresh water supply to your home. Test the kitchen cold water tap to see if any water comes out. If it doesn't you have found your internal stop tap. If you’re still unsure watch the guide to setting up your LeakBot.

8.    What happens if I install LeakBot on the wrong pipe?
LeakBot will only monitor the water flow beyond the point where it is installed. Clipping LeakBot near your internal stop tap ensures it’s able to monitor the flow on your entire internal mains water plumbing system.

9.    Can LeakBot clip onto different sized pipes?
LeakBot’s clip is designed to fit all standard sizes of pipework up to a diameter of 28mm.

10.    Which parts of my plumbing will LeakBot monitor?
When fitted correctly, LeakBot will monitor all hot and cold water pipes fed from your internal mains water supply pipe.

11.    What if I can't install my LeakBot?
All homes are different, and this can sometimes be tricky. If you’re having trouble installing your LeakBot watch the  guide to setting up your LeakBot. We aim to answer any queries you might have relating to Leakbot  installation, however please be aware that Homeserve as the manufacturer and supplier of the device and app are responsible for any problems you might have with the device or app.

12.    How long do LeakBot's batteries last?
LeakBot’s batteries are designed to last up to three years*. LeakBot will let you know when the batteries are low and need replacing. *Battery life is dependant on device usage.

13.    How do I change LeakBot's batteries?

LeakBot’s batteries are located underneath the faceplate. To access them:

• Unclip LeakBot from the pipe.
• Place your thumbs on the bottom corners of the face plate (underneath the smile).
• Push/slide the face plate up about 1cm, then lift the face plate off the device.
• Replace the 2 x AA batteries and replace the faceplate, sliding it back into position.
• Clip LeakBot back onto the pipe. All done, LeakBot will now continue to monitor your home for leaks.

14.    What operating systems are compatible with the LeakBot app?
The LeakBot app is compatible with Android and iOS operating systems.

15.    What's LeakBot ID and where do I find it?
Your unique LeakBot ID is a 6 or 8 alphanumeric code on reverse of the device, just under the clip.

16.    Where can I find the LeakBot app?
The LeakBot app is available from the App Store for iOS devices and Google Play for android devices.
